• Why Stu Davis for Your Inspection Needs?

SIMPLIFY!!! Many home purchases require a well test, radon test, or septic field exam. I can do all of these for you at the time of the home inspection. You won't need to schedule access for several inspectors or wade through several reports! I am available for inspections 7 days a week. Saturday and Sunday inspections are welcome and they do not cost extra.

Many inspectors schedule 4 or more inspections per day. They allocate a time period for each inspection of about 2 hours and when the time is up, they need to move on to their next appointment. I limit my inspections to 2 per day and I spend the amount of time on each home required to do a good job. It may be completed in as little as 2 hours, but if a lot more time needed to do a thorough job, then that it what you will get!

Please call or email to schedule an inspection or to get additional information. I will be happy to answer your questions or to send you a sample report.

  • Experience & Qualifications

I have inspected hundreds of homes in the Triangle area over a period of 15 years. They range from brand new construction to century old mansions. I am very familiar with local construction and with the types of problems that commonly occur in this area.

I am a licensed home inspector (lic# 610) and a licensed general contractor (lic# 37950). I hold an electrical engineering degree from Kettering University.

I am a charter member of the North Carolina Licensed Home Inspector Association (NCLHIA). We have monthly meetings to help our members stay abreast of construction trends and problems.

  • Standards and Training

My inspections meet or exceed the standards required by the Home Inspection Licensing Board of the State of North Carolina and by ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors). Reports are a narrative style and they are typically available the day following the inspection.

A inspector must make hundreds of subjective judgments when inspecting a home. I try very hard to be reasonable in evaluating home components. The age and general condition of the home is considered when determining if a particular condition needs to be resolved right away. Buyers are encouraged to be present at the inspection. It helps you understand the condition of the home and it gives you a chance to ask questions.

Before beginning my home inspection career, I received formal home inspection training at the Home Pro Training Institute in Washington DC and completed several months of field training inspecting homes in the Raleigh area. .
